Get So Much More with the Chase Sapphire Card

You would think I worked for Chase for the amount of times I've advocated the Chase Sapphire Card in many of my previous blog posts. But it wasn't until my last blog post that I realized that I haven't taken the time to mention all of the sweet rewards this card has to offer. I've taken advantage of so many of its perks that I'd be selfish if I didn't share some of the incredible things I've done with this card with you fellow budget travelers

Now, some of you travelers out there may have already looked into this card and rejected the idea of paying $450 for its annual fee. I hear ya. I mean, we're trying to save money for and while we travel, not spend a lot of money before the fact. However, believe me, this card WILL SAVE YOU MONEY for travel AND while you travel. Here's how (do the math with me): $300 of the $450 annual fee can (and will be) used toward travel credit. The remaining $150 will be paid off with all of the other perks you would be sure to use along the way. In fact, you would end up saving money with this card due to the points you rack up and will use for many other purposes. Therefore, the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card is technically free, and essentially similar to the qualities of a gift card for it will pay for itself and more! Have I not persuaded you enough yet? Maybe I should explain more about these perks... So here you go...here are more of the many reasons why you should look into getting one of these bad boys:

If you travel (or plan on traveling) often, this card would essentially be free due to its $300 travel credit given upon signing up, along with the many other perks you are rewarded and would use! In fact, as a member, you would save money along the way...seriously.

1) Rewards with Points:

a) Use Towards Your Flight(s), Hotel(s), & Car Rental(s)-Yes, you can do that! Not to mention, you receive 25% more when you do! I've used many of my points on some of my flights abroad. In fact, I'm using some of them for my upcoming trip to Prague come April.  Each point you earn equates to 1.5 cents that you can use towards travel.  Say goodbye to blackout dates and predicting the cost of a flight using reward points.

b) Use For Events and Experiences- An evening in Barcelona that includes a walking tour, dinner with Tapas and drinks, and a Flamenco show? Absolutely! Just an example of something you can do with the points you've accumulated while traveling. I wouldn't have had this amazing experience had I not seen it as one of the many options in the cardholder VIP package. How about free VIP lounge at Sundance Film Festival? You got it!

2) Other Perks:

a) Priority Pass Lounges- You'll have to read my last blog post to see what you've been missing out on during your last trips' layovers at these lounges (let's just say you've been missing out on A LOT). But don't worry, you won't miss out anymore once you get this card.

b) Free TSA Pre-Check- I haven't had the pleasure to enjoy skipping to the front of the security line at the airport yet, but I will on my next trip (and future trips) since I literally just got my TSA Pre-Check for free with the Chase Sapphire Card. I...cannot...wait. Sorry that I'm not sorry for "cutting" to the front of the line and dodging an hour long wait.

c) Travel Insurance- It's always nice to have insurance...especially when it comes to travel. With the Chase Sapphire Card, you can get reimbursed for pre-paid, non-refundable travel expenses if something were to pop up unexpectedly.  It also includes roadside assistance in the U.S. too. Stuff happens. It's always better to be prepared than not.

d) No International Transaction FeesSome transaction fees abroad can get pretty hefty. But with this card, you won't be charged for any transactions that you make when traveling. To me, this alone is worth getting it!

Whatever credit card you choose to use for (or on) your next trip, just make sure that it has all of the amazing perks that the Chase Sapphire Card has to offer!

Safe Travels,
Veronica
